The role – what is it we would like you to do? 
Currie & Brown is currently looking for an Associate for our London office to join the team working on the exciting Restoration and Renewal of the Palace of Westminster that will also involve co-location to the programme office in Westminster. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in generating a high standard of service delivery and achieving successful outcomes for our client, as well as enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
Your core duties will involve:

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting
  • Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  • Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:
  • BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • A minimum of five years’ technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • Listed building experience
  • Experience in using estimating software including in connection with BIM
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
  • Experience in managing other qualified staff
  • Experience in reporting to external clients
