The role – what is it we would like you to do? 
Currie & Brown is currently looking for an associate project manager for our Cambridge office to support our project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects for several prestigious Cambridge clients and will be expected to generate a high standard of service delivery and achieve successful outcomes, as well as enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider. 
As a project manager your core duties will involve:

  • Planning & Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
  • Delivering as a leading project manager on a or several projects
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion
  • Undertaking project management services with limited supervision
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Undertaking project financial management, fee forecasting and reporting
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
  • Report writing and interpreting reports on work in progress.
  • Proposal writing /contributing to proposals for clients.
What skills and attributes are we looking for from you
  • BSc in project management, building /construction management, building surveying, engineering or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), MPAM, MCIOB or equivalent engineering professional body
  • A minimum of five years’ technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy or building contractor
  • Experience in reporting to external clients
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • Experience in using estimating software including in connection with BIM
  • Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
Additional advantageous qualities:
  • Experience in managing other qualified staff and distributing workload
  • Experience in programming /scheduling (MS Project /ASTA or equivalent)
  • Experience in design management
  • Experience in project financial management /project cash flow forecasting
  • Experience in various forms of contract including NEC
