Are you an experienced and dedicated Care Home Manager, registered with CQC and ready to join a group of people dedicated to improving the lives of those in their care?

Merco are pleased to be working with a top 20 ranked (url removed) in their search for top talent.  As Care Home Manager you’ll take the lead in ensuring the home provides high quality care to the residents, in line with all relevant legislation and regulations.  You will also actively take part in supervisions and support the nursing team.

The financial and budget planning of the home will also be your responsibility and you’ll keep a close eye on targets and KPI’s.

Whilst offering patient centric care, you’ll also be a savvy marketeer – able to devise strategies to ensure full occupancy and promote the homes services.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the home’s staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion and empathy.
• Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a team of skilled care professionals who are committed to delivering person-centred care.
• Ensure that the home meets all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain excellent standards of care and support.
• Manage the home’s budget, ensuring that financial targets are met and costs are effectively managed.
• Develop and implement a well-thought-out marketing plan to maintain full occupancy and promote the home’s services to potential residents, families, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and all stakeholders, responding effectively to their needs and concerns.
• Have oversight of all records to ensure that the home’s administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the home’s performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
• Manage and mitigate risks effectively, ensuring that the home is a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.

Skills and attributes

  • 2 years + experience of managing a nursing home.
  • A good working knowledge, with a proven record of CQC standards and can work towards achieving Outstanding.
  • Good communication skills and can maintain excellent working relationships at all levels, internal as well as external professionals, families and visitors.
  • A proven track record of marketing and business skills within the private care sector, running a commercially successful, good or outstanding rated care home.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for developing high level of person-centred care.
  • Ability to actively participate in the growth and development of the care service.

Education and qualification

• Experienced care home manager with evidence of running a good care home, preferably with a nursing qualification.

• Current registration with the CQC or previous registration in a similar role.

• Up-to-date knowledge of care sector regulations and best practices.

What will you gain?

You will have the satisfaction of working with and being supported by an enthusiastic and caring team that puts people at the heart of the business. We know the happiness of our staff improves the service we give our residents. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your skills, and we have the procedures and processes in place to help you at every step.
