Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team and support Key Stage 3 and 4 students across various mainstream secondary schools in Derby. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in providing additional support to students, both in small groups and on a 1-1 basis, to help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students in Key Stage 3 and 4.
Provide tailored support to students with challenging behavior, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with classroom management and organization to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
Develop and implement strategies to support students with additional needs, ensuring they receive personalized and focused attention.
Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas for improvement and working with teachers to address them.
Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes student engagement and success.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the individual needs of students.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Experience working with students exhibiting challenging behavior.
Ability to work effectively with small groups and on a 1-1 basis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development.
Flexibility and adaptability to work across various schools in Derby.
Ability to drive and access to a vehicle is preferred due to the location of the schools.
Relevant qualifications or experience in education or child development is desirable.
