Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are excited to be working in partnership with a leading freight business based in Nottingham as they look to bring in a Group Procurement Manager into their team on a full time, permanent basis. 

The Group Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading & motivating a team of professional procurement individuals, maximising efficiency and contributing to business results as well as hold key responsibility for the procurement of goods & services for the business by identifying supplier sources, screening and negotiating terms.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Group Procurement Manager will include: 

  • Managing the team to deliver on agreed KPI’s
  • Stakeholder management across the business, project co-ordination, working cross-functionally, setting and delivering on agreed timescales
  • Work with internal customers to ensure inputs needed for Procurement function are available
  • Ensure Procurement policy is adhered to within Procurement and promote around the business
  • Develop, implement and refresh category plans which examine the marketplace and identify savings
  • Tender, evaluation and negotiation of long-term supply contracts complete with terms and conditions 
  • Negotiation and implementation of contract variations to protect budgets
  • Ensuring on time delivery in full to agreed plans 
  • Monitor and improve supplier delivery, quality and cost performance 
  • Launch price enquiries with suppliers against new bids and evaluate/negotiate offers 
  • Lead the supplier qualification process for new and existing sources of supply against allocated Indirect Categories; categories including (but not limited to) Marketing, IT, Facilities, Recruitment & Hotels

Key Skills & Experience required: 

  • 3-5 years management experience, managing minimum 3 people
  • 3-5 years Indirect procurement experience 
  • Experienced in project management / stakeholder management / customer focused
  • Proven track record of cost savings and improvement to service level
  • Experienced negotiator / experienced in supplier relationship management (SRM)
  • Understanding of basic engineering (desirable)
  • Fully CIPS Qualified (desirable)
