We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Chef to join our Kitchen team. This role is a based in our Main Hospital in Central London (W1G 6BW). We are also offering a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

Job Profile

The Head Chef will execute comprehensive management of all aspects of the kitchen operation and work towards building a team infrastructure which delivers world class food product on a consistent basis, driving menu management and development ideas, supplier relationships, team recruitment and development to fit in with London Clinic strategic plan. You will be solely responsible for whole kitchen operation in terms of food safety, upholding relevant legislations and following SOP's and best practices.

As a Head chef you are responsible for organising kitchen work schedules, supporting the kitchen team in delivering consistently high-quality standard food as per detailed SOP's, monitoring stock levels and stock rotation with help from Back of House Manager. Overseeing food products ordering to ensure that items not meeting these standards are not accepted and used in TLC premises.

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.
  • Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 per annum
  • Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (Baker Street and Regents Park stations).

Key Duties

  • Maintain total responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen and other catering outlets
  • Supervise the sous chefs and junior cooks to aid their development and ensure the standards set are met.
  • Completion and monitoring of all rotas for both kitchen staff and contractors as per business needs.
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards, as well as informing cooks of any changes, as well as monitoring stock levels of both food and sundries to ensure the correct levels are maintained.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental working relationships, liaising regularly with business partners and non-clinical managers to ensure a high level of service is delivered and targets are met.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Head Chef in a reputable commercial catering operation with mixture of traditional and modern British/Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
  • Must hold a minimum of level 3 Food Hygiene qualification.
