Head of Finance Opportunity - designate Finance Director role.

Are you a Finance professional looking to move into a fast-pace and high-growth SME?

I am delighted to have been retained by a fantastic Co-Founder and Finance Director, looking to appoint a new Head of Finance. Founded just 7 years ago, this North Lancashire based SME has experienced exponential growth, boasting an annual turnover of £76 million in FY23 and is set to maintain its momentum. The business operates in a robust sector and has secured some very high value long-term contracts.

In order for the business to reach revenues of £100 million in the next financial year, there is a need to appoint a self-driven and skilled finance professional to create a strong finance function and reporting suite.

This role:

  • Reports directly into the Co-Founder of the business who is a charted accountant, acting as the Finance Director
  • Is responsible for managing a small team of Transactional Finance colleagues, leading operational finance. This person may also look to hire additional qualified resource into the team, at the right time.
  • Is responsible for the implementing of Process, Control and Governance within the finance team
  • Will lead migration to a sophisticated financial system
  • Will Business partner closely with the Board & operations teams to provide insight and recommendations to improved business performance
  • Will work closely with the external accounting & audit partners
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC VAT & other regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement a month-end timetable, identify risks and opportunities in the P&L and produce management information
  • Implement and manage comprehensive employee benefits programme

The Package:

  • £60,000-£80,000 base salary
  • 20% bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working arrangement- 2/3 days in office per week
