We’re recruiting a … HGV Mechanic

We are currently looking to recruit for HGV Mechanics to join our Transport Department at our Manchester Depot within our Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business.

The purpose of this role is to Repair and Maintain Our HGV Fleet to comply with legal & Company standards while having the ability to work under pressure, actively seek solutions to problems.

The candidate will work as part of a close team on site at our Manchester Depot.

Contract: Full Time / Permanent (47.5 hour per week)

Salary: £17.00 per hour

Additional hours are paid at overtime rate and Saturdays are paid at 1.125 hourly rate & Sunday/Bank Holidays paid at 1.5 Basic Hourly Rate.

Shift Pattern: 5/7 Shifts a week (9.5 hours per shift)

Location: Manchester 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

· To Inspect and maintain Our HGV Fleet to comply with legal &Company standards.

· Prepare vehicles for MOT Testing and transport to Test Centre.

· To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.

· Repair Minor Accident Damage .

· Carry out Fault Diagnosis.

Requirements

· HGV Licence C+E preferable but not essential

· Commercial experience on HGV’s is essential.

· Qualifications required City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
