This is an exciting opportunity to join a technical IT team at a time of rapid growth.
The role is focused on day-to-day system and network support with a strong mix of project work, you will play a crucial role delivering improvement initiatives designed to ensure a secure, performant, stable and available computing platform.
The role is based out of Leeds with occasional travel required to other sites, you will join a dynamic and experienced team of IT professionals.
The role reports directly into the IT Ops manager and there will opportunities to make an impact with involvement in the technology roadmap, planning and implementation of solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities and duties will include:
* Collaborating with the wider IT team and 3rd party vendors to solve problems and carry out a range of day-to-day IT operational tasks and checks.
* Resolving support requests involving Group applications, networks, systems (firewalls, WAN, data centre etc).
* Identifying problems (recurring issues) and performing root causes analysis/issue resolution.
* Monitoring security and performance platforms ensuring high availability and service levels.
* Maintaining and updating systems including regular patching and security updates and documentation.
* Providing 24x7 critical system support (on a rota basis);
* Provide guidance and assistance with roll out and adoption of best practices for technologies.
Tech Stack
* Demonstrable experience of cloud technologies and migration from legacy environments
* Network design and support skills covering LAN / WAN / SD-WAN / VPN / firewalls)
* Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) (essential).
