Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough.

The Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for implementing, developing, and improving both equipment and procedures to increase efficiency.

Role
Implementing, developing, and improving both equipment and procedures to reduce line downtime and increase efficiency
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Use continuous improvements & lean manufacturing techniques – eg: FMEA, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D, Kaizen
Existing product re-engineering
Design new systems, equipment, and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones
Involvement in new product design
Maintain equipment tooling, jigs & fixtures, implementing TPM where appropriate
Involvement in productionisation and implementation including production layouts
Improve manufacturing efficiencies
Design for production jigs/tooling/fixtures using Solidworks
Carry out in process audits within all manufacturing areas
Carry out process validation on any new tooling or changes to a process
Liaise with R&D to improve design and manufacturability
Liaise with various engineering / manufacturing departments
Based in Wellingborough
Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 17.15 and Friday 8.00 to 13.00

Requirements
Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Tooling Design Engineer, Production Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Process Engineer or similar
Experience using continuous improvements & lean manufacturing techniques – eg: FMEA, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D, Kaizen
Apprentice trained, HNC, HND or Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or similar
Commutable to Wellingborough
