Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

Our client are Water Treatment Experts in design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of Pure Water Systems.

They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them permanently, as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.

Job Duties (include but are not limited to)

• Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
• Develop 3D library for standard plant items
• Liaise with clients on all design details
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
• Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
• Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications
• Prepare & check bill of materials
• Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs

Personal Qualities and Qualifications desired

• Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, accredited in CSWP/CSWE is beneficial
• A good understanding of 2D CAD packages i.e. AutoCAD is desirable
• Must have experience producing P&IDs or similar is essential
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
