Position: Ocean Freight Export Operator

Location: Witham

Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Our client, one of the UK's leading logistics and freight companies that operate worldwide and offer a full range of services in the UK, across Europe and Internationally across all trade routes is seeking a skilled Ocean Export Operator to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will specialise in all things ocean freight operations, from start to finish.

Your key responsibilities as Ocean Freight Export Operator:

• Complete start-to-finish export consignments via sea freight
• Responsible for the day to day running of allocated LCL & FCL export trades
• Create bookings from the origin
• Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines and various carriers
• Track and update shipment statues in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
• Coordinate tasks on the shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements: booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.
• Complete customs processes
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and trade compliance laws
• Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
• Growing our prospect database
• Experience in other modes desirable
• Previous experience in quoting and operations of export ocean freight forwarding is essential
