Production Manager

To manage the laundry and warehouse functions associated with Swindon Hygiene
To be responsible day to day for all Laundry production and hygiene warehouse functions.
Key Tasks

  • Manage the laundry and warehouse ensuring staffing levels are correct to requirement.
  • Manage the on-site laundry and processes in compliance with company procedures
  • Likewise manage the mat delivery to the other Ops Centre that are laundered in Swindon.
  • Ensure all laundry equipment and associated items maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications and company procedures.
  • To have an input into the creation of the laundry and warehouse budget, control costs accordingly and report on projected overspend.
  • Plan, organise and monitor laundry and warehouse staff training and recruitment.
  • Assist the Depot General Manager in dealing with all personnel issues and processes in accordance with Employment Handbook ensuring you liaise through Group HR.
  • Ensure staff appraisals are carried out as per company procedures and guidelines.
  • Encourage a proactive attitude from staff and provide solutions for problems.
  • Ensure compliance with and be responsible for all ISO, IIP and H&S. 
     
Responsibility 

The Laundry & Warehouse Manager has day to day authority and responsibility over:
  • all staff assigned to Swindon Floorcare for laundry and all Hygiene staff assigned to warehouse/stock control , including recruitment, development,
  • machine maintenance, site safety and all related procedures
Capex requirements remain the responsibility of the Regional Operations Manager and the Hygiene Operations Director. 

Experience and Qualifications
  • Understanding of Laundry systems, machinery and processes
  • Experience of managing staff
  • A methodical and logical way of working
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with individuals and groups, both orally and in writing
  • An ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience of budgets and managing cost
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional man management skills
