Psychological Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Therapist to join our Therapies team based at The London Clinic's main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of£42756 - £52,248per annum.

Our main hospital spans 8 floors and comprises 234 beds, 10 theatres (including a hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres), an endoscopy unit, a radiology unit, dialysis and a 13-bed intensive care unit. We have over 1,300 staff working in specialist teams across all clinical and non-clinical areas, combined with over 900 consultant surgeons and physicians.

Job Profile

As Psychological Therapist you will provide counselling services to adult patients across all sectors of The London Clinic with a special emphasis on cancer care. This will include individual therapy for outpatients as well as ward-based support for inpatients and their caregivers.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Salary: £42756 - £52,248inclusive per annum, based on skills and experience (#

Key Duties

  • Provide psychological expertise to improve patient outcomes and holistic care delivery through guidance and consultation with other multidisciplinary colleagues and management. This is to ensure that patient care is delivered to the highest standard across the Clinic.
  • Assess and review the complex psychosocial needs of patients and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, or family groups in order to support patients at all points of their medical pathway from diagnosis to survivorship.
  • Develop and monitor good communication and liaison with the multi-disciplinary teams at The London Clinic.
  • Support staff through the provision of mental health trainings and debriefings.
  • Provide input to enable MDTs to offer a psychologically informed and compassionate approach to delivering optimal patient outcomes and individualized care, including end-of-life care.

Skills & Experience

  • PGDip training in counselling or psychotherapy
  • Accredited with BACP (preferred) or NCPS.
  • Post-qualification experience as a counsellor in an outpatient setting.
  • Training or experience in specialist issues relating to physical illness, loss and bereavement, cancer care etc.
