Senior Data Architect

About the role
Join our Data Architecture team where you will be responsible for data design from product definition through to implementation on our strategic data platforms. As an integral part of the business, you'll ensure the design and development of those solutions and processes are efficient, sustainable and fit-for-purpose for OS's future business needs - a future based on scaling-up to handle vast amounts of spatial data.
You will be a natural problem solver, a collaborator who relishes the opportunity to apply technology and data to the delivery of business-focussed solutions. Seeking a candidate that is unafraid to learn and apply skills and experience to business situations in the areas of data design/modelling, data standards, data analytics technologies data strategy and governance.
What we're looking for
Prior experience working in a recognised data or technical profession/role
Knowledge of how data is produced and used, preferably geospatial
Experience of data design and modelling
Experience of at least one of data analysis, data quality and profiling, managing metadata or data standards
Ability to engage, work with and influence customers, business & technical teams to define data requirements
Strong self-awareness and interpersonal skills - adapts personal style as appropriate to the situation and audience

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend one day a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.
Security
OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
