The role

To work in Property Safety, to plan and deliver programmes of work related to the functions held (e.g. Fire, asbestos, electrical, lifts, water safety etc.) and to ensure Orbit has robust and auditable evidence of compliance with relevant legislation and company KPIs. Most important to this role is to apply the Plan, Do, Check, Act way of working to everything our team does to drive our customer safety culture of continual improvement.

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead on both asbestos and water safety across Orbit’s property portfolio. You will manage a comprehensive work programme or Water risk assessments, Asbestos Surveys, and removals. You will support the wider operations team to ensure safe practices are adhered to when carrying out repairs or refurbishment works. You will have experience building effective relationships as you will need to be able to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.

We are happy to accept applications from either the Midlands or South East locations

What you'll achieve

  • Effective management of workstreams on Asbestos, Legionella & Water Safety across our portfolio of stock
  • Work to ensure all assessments are completed and actions recorded, managed and completed ahead of timescales
  • Work in an agile manner with a mix of home, office and site visits 
  • Work to improve KPI performances in a regulated environment
  • Follow all internal policies & procedures to ensure the safety of customers, contractors and properties

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Substantial experience of managing large contracts based upon high volume, low unit value
  • Experience of improving KPI performance in a compliance related field
  • Experience of implementing policy and procedure towards preventing health and safety incidents
  • Experience of Property Safety/Compliance related functions in relation to a housing landlord
  • Experience of driving health and safety cultural change on a business wide scale

Desirable skills

  • P405 qualification in Asbestos Management
  • L8 Legionella experience

£39,076 - £43,418/annum
group incentive up to 15% of salary,
