We are now looking for a Senior Surface Mount Engineer to join our team.

What our Senior Surface Mount Engineer will do

Reporting to the Senior Product Measurement Group Leader, you will be joining our Sample Preparation Lab. Here, our supportive and harmonious team of people is responsible for preparing samples for characterisation and reliability testing.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Optimising equipment and driving the improvement process of our surface mount environment for soldering electronic components?
  • Programming equipment used for soldering and inspection, such as reflow ovens, P&P machines, AOI, and solder dispensers?
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in surface mount processes, keeping abreast of the latest standards and developments in this field?
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to create and drive lab roadmap plans?
  • Ensuring flawless integration of new test methods into surface mount environment?
  • Benchmarking surface mount lab environments and creating plans to move towards Industry 4.0 standard ?
  • Promoting a “right first time” quality culture by leading and participating in Root Cause Analysis

What our Senior Surface Mount Engineer will need

Essential

  • At least a bachelor's degree in relevant science/material science or electronic engineering?
  • To understand the process of operating SMT lines, including solder paste printing, component placement, and oven profiling
  • Proven previous experience in a similar environment?
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to less knowledgeable colleagues
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
  • To be highly organised, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised?
