Job Description

  • Maintain and continuously improve production systems to ensure they are robust and reliable
  • Development of automation to assist the team internally or wider team members in the SDLC.
  • Monitor logs and systems to spot potential issues and weaknesses, or failures
  • Maintain and provision our infrastructure using code first principles and IaC.
  • Maintain lower environments, keep them synchronised across different systems.
  • Continually develop and evolve our CI/CD pipelines
  • Deploy releases, working and planning with relevant stakeholders
  • Work on incidents in conjunction with team members and coordinating with wider stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the Development and QA teams as part of a DevOps culture to ensure the smooth continuous flow of work as part of the SDLC.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience maintaining production systems and services.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid programming and scripting skills using languages such as Python, Go, BASH etc.
  • Experience provisioning infrastructure using automation and IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, Ansible etc.
  • Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of AWS ecosystem and understanding of a wide range of products such as EC2, ELB, Lambda, API Gateway, S3 etc.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Data lakes / warehouses such as MySQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of IAM policies and config.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols.
  • Understanding of cyber security technology standards,
  • Well versed with containerisation (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Competent with GIT repository management.
  • Well-practiced with static code quality tooling such as SonarQube, Fortify, etc.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Cloudwatch etc.
  • Experience with eCommerce / retail-based architecture.
  • Knowledgeable with Salesforce (especially Force.com) and the Salesforce Developer Experience (SFDX)
  • Always ensure compliance with company policies in line with ISO 27001:2022, BS 10012:2017, ISO 50001:2018, ISO 22301:2019.
