What this role is all about: As part of the Sourcing team, the Sourcing Performance Specialist will ensure the continual delivery of the Sourcing team’s ambitions. You will work closely with the Sourcing Director to deliver the departments strategic targets; measure, monitor and drive performance; and lead on specialist sourcing projects. Key Actions Strategy
Work closely with the Sourcing Director to assist on the delivery of key strategic projects for the Sourcing department. You will liaise with key business functions such as Risk and Audit
Lead on our Sustainability workstream, as we work towards our goal of a carbon neutral supply chain
Fronting on the Sourcing team’s strategy and governance framework, through organisation of key committees and forums, and driving the actions and results from those
Performance
Manage the performance targets of the Sourcing team, through the regular measurement of performance against set objectives.
Utilisation of data to monitor these targets to understand current performance and trends.
Driving forward continuous enhancements and improvements to demand increased performance.
Sourcing
Identify and deliver value through spend reduction opportunities, supplier consolidation and value adding activities.
Utilise existing knowledge and conduct market research to identify potential suppliers. Define the preferred sourcing solution and manage any competitive (RFI/RFP) exercises to meet business and commercial requirements. You can negotiate the best deals possible with short-listed suppliers to achieve the best value for Vitality.
Contract Management
Effectively manage a portfolio of contracts via the Contract Lifecycle Management process and identify efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:
Be fascinated by data, and importantly be able to interrogate data to produce results and enhanced performance.
Be adept at critical thinking, to consistently seek continuous improvement from themselves and others.
Exceptionally well organised, being capable of effectively managing workload and prioritising demand of a whole department
Be adept at thinking logically and critically, with the ability to effectively understand, summarise, and make recommendations on complex subjects
Confidence to challenge decisions made by others including senior stakeholders
Have a proven track record in a sourcing background, delivering key projects for stakeholders
Show a broad understanding of contract drafting, service definition, performance and commercial structures
Show a strong understanding of supplier management, including analysis to mitigate risk through contingency planning, and driving initiatives to seek greater performance
