The role

The purpose of this role is to lead the effective delivery of high value remediation projects including investigation and management of opportunities to recover costs from developers or contractors responsible for failures/defects or recoverable under warranties and guarantees from product manufacturers and/or insurers.

This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.

What you'll achieve

  • Manage all aspects of operational and commercial delivery and overall contract performance, in line with agreed parameters, contractual and funding commitments; project values and budget are demand led, and subject to third party funding opportunities
  • Technically diagnose construction failures and/or defects in existing assets to inform necessary remediation actions and budgeted solutions presented with recommendations for Orbit stakeholders including net present value calculations and business cases to inform broader investment decisions about the viability of assets
  • Investigate and manage opportunities for claims against third parties including developers and insurance providers to ensure remediation cost is mitigated or recovered including preparing position papers, collecting technical evidence relevant to any legal actions under the direction of Orbit’s legal representatives
  • Explore negotiated opportunities with developers, contractors or other third parties to expediate remediation solutions and reduce cost
  • Carry out formal project closure reports to crystallise lessons learnt and to ensure a continuous improvement approach to project delivery

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Educated to degree level in a property related subject or relevant professional qualification
  • Significant proven commercial and technical knowledge/ experience including claims management processed, litigation, and adjudication
  • Experience in operationally leading/supervising a team of professionals in delivering housing related work
  • Experience of leading and delivering a programme of work in a way that achieves high levels of Customer satisfaction
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of general professional disciplines including programming, quantity surveying, contract management and design

Benefits

£52,550 - £58,000/annum
group incentive up to 15% of salary,
