Job Description

Main Duties
Transport Managers are responsible for coordinating the storage, transportation and delivery of goods. You will be involved in the day to day management of the transport team along with the general fleet and vehicle management. You will be monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, whilst making sure that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met.

Key Skills
• Managing an O licence fleet within the required legislation
• Making sure vehicles are properly maintained
• Arranging repairs and routine maintenance
• Ensure driver’s comply with the drivers’ hours and working time rules
• Ensure that drivers are properly trained and competent to operate all relevant vehicles and equipment
• Managing recruitment, training and appraising of employees
• Managing of costs within budget
• Ensure that all required records are made properly and kept for the required period.


Knowledge and Experience:
• Ability to be flexible as we are a 7 day operation
• Organisational and planning skills
• Good IT skills
• Good team work skills
• People Management
