Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Contract Manager
Salary: £38,340 - £47,925 (depending on experience) + 25 days hols + 8 BH + Pension
Location: Bradford, Buttershaw (BD6), hybrid working
Purpose of the role
The Associate Commercial Specialist is responsible for providing commercial, contract management services and commercial advice associated with supporting the delivery of the Water Services Partnership (WSP) at Yorkshire Water. Working as part of the Commercial and Contract Management Team, the Associate Commercial Specialist will support the monthly payments processes and work as part of a team to deliver commercial strategies, processes and procedures to support partners to maximise the benefits and outperform targeted outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
• Work as part of the team to carry out assurance over monthly Applications for Payment, certification of amounts due and uploads payments in to SAP
• Responsible for providing contract management advice, guidance and training to partners to ensure that business targets and objectives are met.
• Working with partners to support compliance with contractual commitments.
• Provide partners with contract administration advice. The WSP is a TSC as part of the NEC3 suite of contracts.
• Support partners with commercial advice and guidance including advising on NEC documentation and contract strategy.
• Support in relation to the informal dispute resolution process specified in the Frameworks.
• Benchmarking of internal and external approaches to develop good practice and continuous improvement
Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential
• Experienced in managing key aspects of NEC contracts in a commercial environment, and experience assessing monthly applications.
• Understanding of commercial contract management.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
• Understanding of compiling, assessment, interpretation and communication of complex data.
• Able to communicate and engage people at all levels cross business and external.
• Clearly demonstrates ethical values and behaviours.
• Can work in a team and manage own workload.
Desirable
• Professional Qualification in Engineering (CEng), Construction Management (MCIOB), Quantity Surveying (MRICS) or relevant construction industry related experience and qualification (NEC PMA etc)
• Experience of working in a regulated industry and regulatory reporting.
• Understanding of Project Management.
