We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan ahead to look after Yorkshire’s water, today, tomorrow, always. 24/7, 365, we provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region’s health, wellbeing, and prosperity.
That means over 5 million customers, and the millions of people who visit Yorkshire each year, rely on us, every day. 140,000 businesses also depend upon the water we supply and the wastewater we take away to provide goods and services that support the economy – not only in Yorkshire, but across the United Kingdom and beyond.
We provide water and waste water services to customers across the Yorkshire region. To do this we have around 8,000 people working for the company, including service partners. Working for Yorkshire Water involves roles which are focused on looking after the water environment and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
A large number of our roles are operationally focused, working from water or waste water treatment sites, or operating the water and waste water network, across the Yorkshire region. You can be outdoors, working in all weathers. You will be using your technical mindset and problem-solving skills to deliver an excellent service to our customers and colleagues. We empower our people to use their own initiative, make decisions and generate new ideas. We also have a number of customer-facing roles – you could be on the telephone speaking to our customers, planning scheduled work or be out visiting our customers’ properties to resolve an issue they may have.
We have operational roles in the following business areas – Customer Field Services, Field Operations, Customer Experience, Energy & Recycling, Process & Pumping, Leakage, Water Quality, Engineering & Reliability and Operational Planning & Resilience.
