WHAT TO EXPECT 

The Business is entering a new phase of collaboration across the TATA Group having recently announced plans to platform share and jointly develop vehicles.

The role is based in Gaydon in the UK and involves working closely with existing EMA squads plus the newly formed TATA Passenger Electrified Mobility (TPEM) Team. This team pulls on expertise across the TATA Organisation, including resources from TATA Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) in Warwick and of course the Teams in India.

The role is a blend of Programme Technology Centre Leader (TCL) delivering a compatible set of assumptions for the first programme to Quality, Cost, Time and supporting the Body / Chassis functions with commodity strategy to maximise the benefit of working closely with the TATA Team as our product portfolios develop.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Leading the integration and issue management of carryover/re-use parts on the Programme and Unit/Architecture
  • Working with the teams across JLR / TATA Organisations to ensure assumptions remain aligned and roles / responsibilities are understood.
  • Maintain a cadence across the JLR teams to ensure deliverables are clear and delivered on time for the appropriate gateway.
  • Build great relationships across the JLR / TATA teams and support a culture which encourages early identification of issues, with solutions explored in an open / transparent manner.
  • Ensuring robust integration of Body Chassis content and application of Tech Centre Body of Knowledge and expertise, strongly linking the Off-Cycle Tech Centre skills into the ‘How’ challenges.
  • Threat spotting to identify risks to Engineering robustness and delivery, ensuring Engineering goodness/integrity is being delivered throughout the programme.
  • Embedding lessons learned on Tech Centre delivery from previous programmes
  • Support the continued use of AGILE within the organisation, recognising the approach may need to flex due to the unique nature of the TPEM project.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Experience of delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment working within a Programme Management Delivery System ie PCDS
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with a confident attitude
  • Ability to present complex information across all levels and cultures
  • Excellent team leading capability is essential. Ability to organise and drive the team to resolve cross functional issues
  • Strong technical knowledge and a broad understanding of Body Chassis and interfaces into other vehicle functions / systems.
  • Strong project management capabilities with excellent implementation skills and the ability to multitask
  • High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
  • Understanding and adoption of AGILE Principles
  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems and Tools i.e. 6 Sigma / 8D
  • Appreciation of iCreate / Release process
